New Year, New Start.

The start of a whole new year. New Year is a time to cherish your family, kids and a time full of fun and excitement. What better way to kick off a new year than with your kids? I can think of no better way to kick start the year off than spending quality time with your family. Break the news of going out on this very special day to your kids and get ready for a beautiful New Year day. Here is a list of 10 places you can visit with your kids:

  1.     Bakery Cafe:

The bakery café has outlets in Boudha, Bhatbhateni, Jawlakhel, Maharajgunj, New Baneshwor, Pulchowk, Teendhara, and Teku. The bakery café offers not only food but a small area for the kids to play in with other kids.

  1.     Kathmandu Fun Park:

Kathmandu Fun Park offers various games and fun activities for kids like Ferris wheel, Columbus, slides, trampolines and many more. The kids will definitely have a wonderful time. Fun Park is located in Bhrikutimandap.

  1.     Central Zoo:

The central zoo is the only zoo of Nepal. It is home to 109 species. Kids love to see different kinds of animals so they will have a great day. The central zoo is located in Jawlakhel.

  1.     Chandragiri:

Chandragiri Hill has attractions like view tower to get a 180-degree view of the Himalayas, children’s playground for the kids to go crazy, shops and pony ride. Chandragiri Hill in Thankot is just approximately 40 minutes’ drive away from the capital.

  1.     Taudaha:

Taudaha Lake is a small lake on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Kids can see plenty of fishes in the lake and feed them and afterward, the family can enjoy the nature from the few restaurants around. Taudaha Lake is located Chobar, on the way to Dakshinkali.

  1.     Central Bal Sansar:

Central Bal Sansar, located at Civil Mall has a kid’s zone with various games and fun activities. You can entertain your kids while shopping at Civil Mall so they don’t get bored. It is Nepal’s largest indoor kids’ play area. Civil Mall is located at Sundhara.

  1.     National Botanical Garden:

The national botanical garden consists of evergreen natural forests. It has a big area, where your kids can wander around and afterward have a small picnic. The national botanical garden is located in the base of Mount Phulchoki, Godawari.  

  1.     Tiger Lily Petting Farm and Hands On Museum:

This petting and hands on museum is an amazing experience for the young ones. The kids can learn through playing with the animals and revel in the joy of being around animals. This petting farm consists of various animals. The farm is located in Sirutar, Bhaktapur.

  1.     Bhaktapur Durbar Square:

Bhaktapur Durbar square combines the old with new. You and your kids can spend your whole day at the durbar square and enjoy every minute of it. Kids will enjoy this place for various reasons, looking around at various different arts.

Taragaon museum is a center for the arts and culture. It focuses on the culture of Nepalese in the past as well as the present.  Kids like museums as they get a chance to wander around and get to see many astonishing things that are not around in today’s society.  Taragaon Museum is located in Boudha, within Hyatt Regency premises.
